Experience American Rock with Blue Oyster Cult (800 PM) at the Mohegan Sun Arena - Wolf Den on 11-15

09-26-08
Formed in New York in 1967, Blue Oyster Cult (800 PM) has been rockin' the stage for a long time. See them on tour now in Mohegan Sun Arena - Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun Arena - Wolf Den CITY. Blue Oyster Cult (800 PM) is a pioneer in heavy metal music with use of sci-fi and occult imagery. Blue Oyster Cult (800 PM)'s debut album Blue Öyster Cult was released in January 1972, with a black and white cover designed by artist Bill Gawlik. The album featured the songs 'Cities on Flame with Rock and Roll,' 'Stairway to the Stars,' and 'Then Came the Last Days of May'. At the time, Blue Oyster Cult (800 PM) toured with artists such as the Byrds, Alice Cooper and the Mahavishnu Orchestra. Blue Oyster Cult (800 PM)'s next album Tyranny and Mutation, released in 1973, was written while the band was on tour for their first LP. It contained songs such as 'The Red and The Black' (an ode to the Royal Canadian Mounted Police), 'Hot Rails To Hell', and 'Baby Ice Dog', the first of the band's many collaborations with Patti Smith. Blue Oyster Cult (800 PM)'s third album, Secret Treaties (1974), featured songs such as 'Career of Evil' (also co-written by Patti Smith), 'Dominance and Submission' and 'Astronomy.' Blue Oyster Cult (800 PM) was now capable of headlining arenas. Check out Blue Oyster Cult (800 PM)'s official website for more information on albums released since 74. The name 'Blue Oyster Cult (800 PM)' came from a 1960s poem written by manager Sandy Pearlman. It was part of his 'Imaginos' poetry, later used more extensively in their 1988 album Imaginos. Pearlman had also come up with the band's earlier name, 'Soft White Underbelly', from a phrase used by Winston Churchill in describing Italy during World War II. In Pearlman's poetry, the 'Blue Oyster Cult (800 PM)' was a collection of aliens who had collected to secretly guide Earth's history. So if you are not a mainstream kind of guy or gal Blue Oyster Cult (800 PM) is the right show for you to see in Mohegan Sun Arena - Wolf Den at Uncasville on 11-15.
